As seen on Railway Modellers.com
Wickham Station is a OO Gauge fictitious heritage Norfolk railway set in the present day. The name of the station comes from My surname, and is the first model railway that has been built by My stepson Nathan and I. All the track is Peco Setrack and a mixture of steam and diesel rolling stock from Hornby & Bachmann.
This is a DC OO Gauge Model Railway using 2 separate controllers, one operating the main passenger line into the station platform. The second controller operates the shunting freight area of the layout, enabling locomotives and wagons to shunt in and out of the tunnel mouth and warehouse into the hidden fiddle yard.
Although the layout is only little it does offer a lovely slow realistic operation of a small railway station and shunting yard, enabling lots of rolling stock to be operated. The scenics on the layout including a main street behind the station, including a gate house, parcels office, insurance office, a couple of shops, public house, and village church. All low relief. At the other end of the line is another tunnel mouth, with terraced houses above, a level crossing and railway workers cottage. We have also just added sound, to make it even more realistic!
